Because of you …

Saint Leo University provided the flexibility I needed to complete my education goals while on active duty in the military and having four children, with my two boys being under three years old. In addition, all of the staff and professors here at Saint Leo have been exceptional.

My decision to join the Coast Guard nearly 20 years ago has helped mold me into the person I am today. I have been blessed to be in an organization that saves lives and protects our country’s interests. I have a great sense of pride in my experiences rescuing those in distress, as well protecting our borders from drug trafficking or terror threats. All that being said, my family and my faith are what I am most proud of on a personal level. They are my strength and my delight. Academically, I am proud that, though my life took a less traditional path, I am still actively pursuing and will complete my goal of attaining my bachelor’s degree and perhaps beyond.

My Saint Leo is a community of peers and professionals from all walks of life working together and striving for educational as well as personal excellence. It is also the conduit by which I will be able to fulfil my educational goals that once seemed nearly unattainable.

It is hard to articulate the gratitude of receiving such selfless generosity. The words “thank you” fall short of expressing my appreciation. This support has allowed me the opportunity to follow my aspirations and dreams of completing my education and is an example to my children that with perseverance anyone can meet their goals. It also shows there are amazing individuals out there willing to offer assistance if we are willing to ask for help.
