We have something for everyone this year from honoring our former athletes at the Athletic Hall of Fame, to partying lakeside in The Bowl, from experiencing a classroom, to dancing the night away in one of our newest academic buildings, Kirk Hall! Wonder what it is like to be a student at University Campus in 2017? Here is your chance. See firsthand how our students learn to dust a crime science, get in classroom practice by using avatars, and experience a real-time hack attack! The three different tracks will be offered twice on Friday and Saturday. Please choose one per time slot. Please meet at the Student Activities Building for transportation to each site.

Track 1: The Crime Scene House—Instructor Karin May, special programs administrator, School of Education and Social Services, will create a mock scenario in a special campus property, “The Crime Scene House,” with telling evidence such as blood spatter patterns and fingerprints. (Note there will be no Crime Scene House session on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.)

Track 2: Innovations in Education—Dr. Candace Roberts, professor of education, Dr. Holly Atkins, associate professor of education, Dr. Keya Mukherjee, assistant professor of education, and Dr. Melinda Carver, associate professor of education, will facilitate two modules: a Teach LiVE™ demonstration with grade school student “avatars” and the 21st Century Classroom, showcasing innovative technology methods. (The avatar presentation will be on Friday only.)

Track 3: Cybersecurity—Dr. Marwan Omar, assistant professor of computer science and information, can alleviate your fears of losing critical data with two unique cybersecurity demonstrations: a digital forensics simulation to retrieve stolen or lost data and an exceptional GPS-driven application that can find a stolen laptop or phone.
