Elton Trueblood, a 19th century theologian and former chaplain to both Harvard and Stanford Universities, spoke about how an individual can plant a seed that will eventually grow into something for future generations to benefit from. At Saint Leo University, generous donors understand Trueblood’s message, and the shade from the trees planted years ago now provide aid to grateful students.

One individual who made a lasting impact at Saint Leo University was Mr. Herbert Collier. By including Saint Leo University in his estate plan, Mr. Collier funded an endowed scholarship that has financially supported students for more than 35 years. In fact, this year alone, the Herbert K. Collier Scholarship is providing essential funds to four worthy students, each of them from different backgrounds, but all sharing an appreciation for their experience here at Saint Leo University.
