Hundreds attended Dr. Victoria Barnett’s November 9 lectures, which included introductory comments by Rabbi Richard Birnholz of Tampa and responses by CCJS co-founder, Rabbi James Rudin. The lectures were held at Saint Leo University and Christ the King Catholic Church, Tampa.

Rabbi Jason Rosenberg guides Saint Leo students and faculty in the study of the Talmud
On November 15, Rabbi Rosenberg led more than 80 students and faculty of Saint Leo philosophy, theology, and religion courses in a study of the Talmud. His next session will take place on January 22, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., in the Student Center Boardrooms.

CCJS continues response to neo-Nazi movements in the U.S. with a lecture on how one Catholic theologian used scripture against Hitler
On February 9, in Saint Leo University’s TECO Hall, Dr. Joseph Gordon, professor of theology at Johnson University, Kissimmee, FL, will lecture on Henri de Lubac’s resistance to Nazi antisemitism.

CCJS continues its study of the Vatican’s 2015 document on Catholic-Jewish Relations, “The Gifts and the Calling of God are Irrevocable”
On February 15, CCJS will present its second program designed to respond to the Vatican’s call for increased theological study of questions in Catholic-Jewish relations. The program features lectures and dialogue with Rabbi Dr. Allan Brill and Dr. Pim Valkenberg.
Rabbi David Saperstein, former U.S. Ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, to deliver 2018 Rudin Lecture
On March 8, Rabbi Saperstein, the first rabbi to be appointed as a U.S. ambassador, will speak on the status of Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East.
